During a charity event hosted by David Lynch, Kesha approached Jerry Seinfeld for a hug, only to be turned down in front of cameras. In the widely circulated video (via X), fans can see the singer approaching Seinfeld from behind and asking for an embrace. With her arms extended, she stated in the video.
Seinfeld answered, “Oh, thanks”. However, Kesha kept asking for an embrace, to which Seinfeld would always reply, “No, thanks”. After the third time, she appeared hurt and walked off into the distance. Seinfeld told a reporter that he had no idea who she was.
At an appearance on The Best Show with Tom Scharpling in 2023, Kesha reminisced about meeting the comedian at a charitable function and how he turned her hug request down:
