Sam Heughan has declared himself a “Swiftie” ahead of Swift’s shows in the Scottish capital
Renowned actor Sam Heughan has expressed his excitement for Taylor Swift’s upcoming performances in Edinburgh, Scotland, as part of her “Eras Tour.”
The “Outlander” star took to Instagram to share his playful anticipation, humorously suggesting he might steal the pop sensation’s heart from her current partner, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
In a light-hearted video posted on his Instagram, Heughan, dressed in his “Outlander” costume, shared his excitement.
“We’re going to go see Taylor Swift play in Scotland and I think most of the cast is going. She obviously doesn’t know this, but when she comes to Scotland and sees me in the audience, she’s going to forget all about him and fall for a man in a ginger wig. How could she resist? She’s gonna shake him off and take me out instead. I’m really excited!” he quipped.
The background of the video featured Swift’s song “…Ready For It,” and Heughan captioned the post with a warm welcome: “Welcome to Scotland Taylor! JAMMF is a Swiftie.”
While Heughan’s comments were clearly in jest, they sparked a wave of reactions online.
Fans loved his cheeky remarks, with one user commenting, “I love it when famous people are fans of other famous people. We are all just human after all. I hope you get to meet her in person, Sam. Either way; ENJOY!!”
Another fan encouraged Heughan to emulate Kelce’s approach to wooing Swift, suggesting, “Make her a friendship bracelet, Sam – I hear that works.”
Taylor Swift is set to perform at the Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium for three nights as part of her “Eras Tour,” with rock band Paramore opening the shows.
Following her stint in Edinburgh, Swift will continue her tour across the UK, with stops in Liverpool, Cardiff, and London.
Swift’s “Eras Tour” has been met with critical acclaim, and she recently updated her setlist to include songs from her latest album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” released in April.
Kelce himself praised the new setlist after attending her Paris show, stating on his “New Heights” podcast, “I suggest everybody get out there and see it. It is absolutely unbelievable. I enjoyed every bit of it.”
