Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are navigating a long-distance relationship right now while she’s on the European leg of the Eras Tour. It’s not an easy place to be in, but they are making it work and seeing each other whenever they can. However, there’s a lot of pressure on their relationship, not only from fans, but also from their friends and family.
The dynamic duo came out of the gate as a hot Hollywood couple, but it seems like everyone is forcing them in a specific direction before they are even ready. When are you getting engaged? It has to be exhausting to be asked the same question over and over again, especially when they haven’t hit their first anniversary. “The constant questioning from friends and family is starting to really get them down,” a Life & Style insider shared. “Not a day goes by they don’t get hit with gentle hints and questions.”
While Swift has been safely ensconced in Europe, it’s Kelce who is being bombarded with questions. On Saturday at the Big Slick Celebrity Weekend charity fundraiser in Kansas City, Missouri, the NFL star was pestered with questions in a comedy sketch with Jason Sudeikis, Robert Smigel, and George Wendt. Sudeikis, in character, asked, “Travis, real talk, OK, just the guys here… When are you going to make an honest woman out of her?”
Kelce’s awkward laugh said everything fans needed to know as the audience cheered. Sudeikis continued with a Harrison Butker’s reference, “Taylor doesn’t need to be working anymore and, again, I know your kicker agrees with me. He gets it.”
The Life & Style source emphasized how annoying the question is for both of them. “The social media and fan chatter about an engagement is bad enough, but he also gets questions from friends, and the more he’s pressured, the more he withdraws,” they said. Yes, everyone loves them together and wants to see them happy, but they just aren’t ready yet. Why is everyone trying to force them down the aisle so quickly? Swift feels the same way, so the pressure is an equal situation.
“Her friends bring it up all the time, and she’s ordered them to stop mentioning it. The constant questions are not helping,” the insider divulged. “She’s 100 percent sure that Travis is The One, and she’s just hoping the proposal happens soon because she wants to get on with the next stage of their lives.” Swift and Kelce seem to have the same goal in mind, and they want to be together, but everyone has to let them breathe and enjoy the romance of their still blossoming love.
