Cardi B won’t be at the polls casting a vote for either Joe Biden or Donald Trump in the presidential election this November.
After publicly supporting Bernie Sanders and then Biden in 2020, the “Bodak Yellow” rapper made it clear that her stance has changed.
“I don’t f–k with both of y’all n—-s,” she said in Rolling Stone’s June cover story in reference to Biden and Trump.
The rapper said her shift in point of view stems from “layers and layers of disappointment” since Biden has been in office. She added that the administration’s funding of wars is a huge concern.
“There’s countries where kids are getting killed every single day, but because the U.S. won’t benefit from that country, they won’t help,” she said. “I don’t like that America has this superhero cape on. We never did things to be superheroes. We did things for our own convenience.”
Cardi also didn’t hold back from expressing her hatred for Trump’s presidency either, noting that both candidates lack the best interest for the average person.
“The cost of living is too high, wages are too low, and too little is being done about it,” she said. “I feel like people got betrayed.”
In the extensive profile, Cardi also got candid about her complicated relationship with estranged husband Offset. Five months after she confirmed their split, the 31 year old rapper admits the pair are still on the fence about officially filing for divorce.
“I think it through,” the “WAP” rapper revealed to Rolling Stone. “We think it through, because we do love each other. It’s not even about love. We’re best friends. It’s not even about ‘How do you leave a partner?’ [It’s about] How do you stop talking to your best friend?”
Nonetheless, the Bronx native is currently focused on co-parenting their 5-year-old daughter, Kulture, and 2-year-old son, Wave.
“My career comes first, then my kids come second. And then sometimes I don’t realize that I’m putting so many things before my relationship,” she says before seemingly adjusting that ranking. “My kids come before anything.”
