Travis Kelce’s Chiefs teammates are hoping the tight end and his girlfriend Taylor Swift get married and have kids together.
Chiefs long snapper James Winchester, who’s played with Kelce since the 2015 season, explained why he believes the three-time Super Bowl champ and the 14-time Grammy winner will get engaged.
“I can definitely see it, yeah,” Winchester said on Wednesday’s installment of the “Like a Farmer Podcast” when Pat Spinosa asked about a potential engagement.
“They’re very similar in a lot of ways. Being around Trav for the last nine years, I mean, I think they’re more similar than you would think. I wish the best for them. I’m going to go with what our kicker Harrison Butker said, ‘I hope you guys get married and have a lot of kids.’ So, you know, I’m like ‘hey, go for it, have a family.’ I’m happy for them.”
Winchester explained that Kelce and Swift’s whirlwind romance was an “overall positive deal” for Chiefs Kingdom and the people of Kansas City.
“Shoutout to Taylor and Trav for being them… I couldn’t be happier for them,” he said.
Winchester said he became a fan of Swift’s after she gushed over his [three] kids [with his wife, Emily] when they first met last September — following the Chiefs’ win over the Bears at Arrowhead Stadium.
That was the first game Swift attended.
“I mean I’m a fan of her because being around her this year and hearing everything she’s such a genuine person,” he said. “And where it might’ve gotten old for people seeing all of that posted. For us, it was great. It wasn’t a distraction. Couldn’t be happier for Trav and her and that whole deal. It seems like a really good thing for him and her.
“Then her support all the way through the Super Bowl it was awesome… For those out there who got a little tired of the T Swift stuff when they were watching the Chiefs, I’m sure they got a little tired of them showing them too, so it was a mutual thing there. Getting to meet her family and have conversations with them throughout the year was fun.”
Winchester also recalled not believing the Kelce-Swift dating rumors when the couple was first linked last summer.
He was only convinced when he saw Swift at her first public appearance at a Chiefs game.
The next month, Kelce and Swift went public with their relationship when they were photographed holding hands while out together in New York City.
The “Cruel Summer” singer is currently in Paris on the international leg of her Eras Tour.
Kelce is expected to joined her in Europe at some point during her tour.
