Lady Gaga joined U2 during their performance at the Sphere in Las Vegas last night for a rendition of “Shallow,” her song from A Star Is Born. The singer took the stage with the band clad in a leather jacket and sunglasses for a surprisingly energetic version of the emotive song where she shared vocals with Bono.

Lady Gaga’s appearance followed on the heels of her recent onstage collaboration with the Rolling Stones at New York City club Racket last week. She joined the band for “Sweet Sounds of Heaven” from the Rolling Stones recent LP, Hackney Diamonds.
Yesterday’s live take on “Shallow” is not Gaga’s first time performing with U2. In 2015, she made a surprise appearance during the band’s Innocence + Experience Tour, which saw numerous special guests pop by the shows. Gaga showed up to perform “Ordinary Love” with U2 after rumors started to spread across social media that she might be at Madison Square Garden.

Lady Gaga wrote “Shallow” with Mark Ronson, Andrew Wyatt and Anthony Rossomando, and co-produced the track with Benjamin Rice. She originally performed the song with Bradley Cooper in A Star Is Born. The duo later showcased the duet live at the Oscars in 2019, where the tune was awarded the statue for Best Original Song.
U2 launched the Sphere in Las Vegas in September and have been regularly performing in the innovative new venue since.
