Biden Jokes That Potential Taylor Swift Endorsement Is ‘Classified Information’ – Rolling Stone

By Jon Blistein
President Joe Biden happily waded into the shallow end of deranged far-right conspiracies and joked about a possible endorsement from Taylor Swift on Late Night With Seth Meyers last night.
Swift has, so far, not endorsed any political candidate in 2024, though that hasn’t stopped conservatives from concocting some truly wild theories that her relationship with Travis Kelce is part of some elaborate deep-state plot to get Biden re-elected. So, Meyers lobbed Biden a softball, asking if he could “confirm or deny that there is an active conspiracy between you and Miss Swift.”
Biden, in full Dark Brandon mode, quipped, “Where are you getting this information? It’s classified.” Meyers then noted that Swift did, in fact, endorse Biden back in 2020 and asked if she might again this time. Again, Biden cracked, “I told you, it’s classified.”

When Swift has made political endorsements, she’s fairly consistently supported Democrats, including Biden in 2020 and two Tennessee democrats running in the 2018 midterms. Despite this track record, Donald Trump recently touted publicly that he was confident there was “no way” Swift would “be disloyal” to Trump and endorse Biden again. His reasoning? He “made her so much money” by signing the Music Modernization Act — which he did as president… in 2018… before she endorsed Biden in 2020.

Meanwhile, as Rolling Stone reported in January, Trump and his aides have privately been plotting a “holy war” against Swift if she does officially endorse Biden and the Democrats in 2024. The former president has also insisted he’s “more popular” than Swift and that his fans are more committed.
