Taylor Swift’s first Sydney Eras Tour concert finally got underway at Accor Stadium on Friday night after storm warnings and wet weather caused significant delays.
Before the show got underway, fans in the lower sections of the stadium had to be evacuated to undercover areas after lightning strikes were reported in the vicinity of the venue.

With 81,000 fans piling into the venue, it wasn’t exactly a dream start for Sydney Swifties.
Once fans were finally allowed back to their seats, it was announced that Sabrina Carpenter’s support set had been cancelled to make up time, as Swift’s set is more than three hours long.
Fans screamed as Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce made his entrance, walking through a parted wave of fans towards the VIP tent, surrounded by security.
Swifties also spotted pop stars Katy Perry and Rita Ora, along with Ora’s husband, film director Taika Waititi, enjoying the concert.
When Swift finally took to the stage — about an hour later than originally scheduled — it was time for fans to really celebrate.
The rain, the delays and the threat of lightning strikes were all forgotten as Swift performed her musical magic.
