Taylor Swift is very popular right now, you may have heard, so I decided to have a Taylor Swift themed party at the library. The Eras Tour recently resumed and Taylor just announced that she will be releasing a new album titled The Tortured Poets Department on April 19th.

In her song You’re On Your Own Kid, off of the recent Grammy winning album Midnights, Swift sings the line, “so make the friendship bracelets . . . ” This has become a very popular part of the Swiftie fandom. I created a friendship bracelet station since that is what Swfities are making each other at the Eras Tour.

Hot tip: seal your friendship bracelets by putting a dab of your preferred type of super glue on your closing knot(s) for your bracelets. This will help prevent any mishaps.
The next Station was the coloring page section which was very popular. With a quick Google search, you can find a variety of free online Taylor Swift coloring pages. Coloring is fun and has been found to have calming effects and is good for one’s mental health.
I used our laptop to play the Taylor Swift lyric videos so patrons could sing a lot to their favorite songs while hanging out. You can find the lyric videos on You Tube.
An opportunity for photo ops was created by a Swiftie staff member’s dad who had made her a Lover house out of wood and painted it. Some fun props you can include are red heart sunglasses and a bowler hat. There are also some photo booth prop packages that you can buy off of Amazon.
This was a very easy and simple program to do. I only spent money on extra letter beads because I had everything in the library. Super fun. This was great for parents and their children to do together. We had a lot of walk-ins.
