New Delhi: As a unique Valentine’s Day gift to his fans, director Todd Phillips, who is preparing the premiere of his next film, ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’, released images of Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix on Wednesday.
Todd Phillips has continued the practice for the second year in a row, having unveiled Lady Gaga’s first image on the same day the previous year. The three newly released images show Phoenix and Gaga enjoying romantic moments from ‘Joker 2’.
In one, he’s dressed as the Joker, while in the other, Gaga is gazing affectionately at Phoenix, their noses grazing one another. Phoenix is dressed in a tuxedo and Gaga is wearing a stunning outfit as the couple is seen dancing on the terrace in the third photo.
Joaquin Phoenix plays Arthur Fleck in the much expected Joker sequel, while Lady Gaga reportedly plays a part based on Harley Quinn from comic books.
“Hoping your day is full of love,” Phillips captioned the images on Instagram, which naturally excited fans. “Todd!!!!!! I almost crashed my car!!! Thanks king :),” wrote a user, while another said, “So ready for the movie of the year.”

The Hollywood Reporter claims that the pair is well-known for their poisonous romantic relationship in comic books. The term “an identical or similar mental disorder impacting two or more people, usually members of the same family” is referenced in the Folie à Deux title.
‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ is slated for a release on October 4, 2024. 2019 saw the release of the first ‘Joker’, which broke box office records and brought in over $1 billion. Phoenix had won an Oscar for his performance in the movie as Joker.
The 2019 movie ‘Joker’ will get a follow-up in the form of the American musical thriller ‘Joker 2’.
Todd Phillips, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Scott Silver, is the director of the movie. In collaboration with Village Roadshow Pictures, Bron Creative, and Joint Effort, Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Studios are producing it.
