Lady Gaga recently went Instagram official with new boyfriend Michael Polansky and now his ex-girlfriend is sharing her thoughts on their blossoming romance.
Lindsay Crouse isn’t famous. But her ex is now dating one of the biggest stars in the world. She saw so on Instagram, when Gaga shared a snap of her looking all smitten and snuggling into his lap.
And while our first reaction would be to instantly reach for all the cheese, all the chocolate and whack on Bridget Jones to make ourselves feel better, Lindsay is out here feeling herself.
In an op-ed for the New York Times, Lindsay – who dated Michael for seven years back in college – reveals her reaction to her ex getting together with Gaga and, tbh, it’s genius.
So what did she do, you ask? Well, she channelled her inner Gaga.
She writes: ‘I don’t follow my ex on social media. We were ‘friends’ on Facebook. Then we were ‘in a relationship’ on Facebook. After we broke up, I noticed I was ‘blocked’ on Facebook. And then we moved on. I hadn’t googled him in forever (I promise). But this month I knew everything about his new relationship status, within hours of when it was disclosed.’
Lindsay continues: ‘If you’ve ever googled an ex’s new partner (be honest) you’ve probably played a certain game with yourself. You’re either just curious – which is healthy of you – or you want to know how you compare… How do you compare yourself with Lady Gaga? Lady Gaga is amazing.’
But here’s the thing, Lindsay then urges everyone to do just that compare themselves to Gaga and says doing so is actually ‘motivational’.
She says: ‘If Lady Gaga can do what she wants, and even expand on what she wants, why not me, too? I went to a nice store I’d never been inside before and I tried something on. The clerk asked me what the occasion was.
‘I found out from Facebook that my ex-boyfriend was dating Lady Gaga, I told her, and she looked me up and down. The dress was too expensive, but I bought it anyway. Why should I accept less than Lady Gaga?’
Too right, Lindsay.

And the icing on the cake, while she’s out here creeping on her ex and Gaga, he’s doing the exact same right back.
Lindsay had posted a video of her and her fiance dancing together at a wedding to Instagram and who’s name popped up in the views? Her ex-boyfriend’s. Of course.
‘I saw Lady Gaga’s boyfriend in the views,’ she revealed. ‘And I realized we’re actually all the same: strangers, smiling on a screen.’
