I read the recent commentary about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce and his behavior on Sunday and agreed with every point Emily Fleming made (“The biggest loser of the AFC championship game? Taylor Swift, if that’s how her boyfriend always acts.” Jan. 29).
Obviously, I don’t know Travis at all, but the behaviors I observed during the AFC championship game Sunday seemed immature and disrespectful to me. I’m told this is “trash talk” or football gamesmanship, and maybe it is, but it’s certainly not impressive to me.
I read that Travis was very upset when the Chiefs lost their game on Christmas Day and nearly ruined the holiday with Swift and her family because he was so disappointed. I don’t know if this is true, but it does make me wonder how he will act if they lose the Super Bowl. We will see his true character and how he acts when he’s not “winning.”
I wish Taylor the best, which I believe she deserves, and I’m hoping he is the man she believes him to be. I hope our fears are unfounded and he is better than what we’ve seen this past weekend.
