Cardi B has a bone to pick with the current cost of living, despite previously claiming she’s worth more than $40 million.
The Bronx-bred rapper responded to a fan in December who suggested she has a current net worth of $40 million, and retaliated by not only correcting them but reminding them how fragile her finances are.

“I’m worth more then that and guess what ? If I don’t save , work and budget I could lose it too!” she wrote back on Twitter. “What makes you think that no matter how much money you got you can’t lose it all if you don’t manage your money correctly. I too have bills, responsibilities and people I have to help.”
Cardi seems to be feeling the financial stress just like the rest of us, and during a recent trip to the grocery store was aghast at the rising cost of fresh produce.
“Naaaaaa grocery shopping prices are ridiculous right now You might as well eat outside !!” the “Tomorrow 2” rapper tweeted on Tuesday (January 3). “Bitch why lettuce cost 6 dollars where I live at?”

Cardi B isn’t the only rapper to have complained about the cost of living. Earlier in 2022, Toosiilamented the current price of gas and said it’s gotten so high he’s considered downgrading his car.
“My car need a oil change and gas is a hundred fucking dollars a gallon,” the stressed-out lyricist said. “What the fuck is going on? Who bright fucking genius idea was it to just say, ‘Hey, we’re gonna make gas $100, and since y’all can afford these nice-ass cars, y’all about to afford this nice-ass gas.'”

He added: “Fuck this shit! See me in a motherfuckin’ Toyota Prius or a motherfuckin’ Punch Buggy. I don’t wanna hear nothing ’bout, ‘Hey, you fell off.’ I’m just trying to make my life easier.”
Ice-T also made a joke about inflation back in March, where he said he called the police to report that his money had been stolen by the gas pump.

He continued: “the police asked me if I knew who did it..I said yes.. it was pump number 9.”

Cardi B’s money moves come as fans continue to wait patiently for new music. Cardi admitted in a heartfelt Instagram Live session earlier this month that her personal anxieties are partially behind the delay.
“I’m just a mom and I do have anxiety,” she told fans. “I’ve been having a lot of anxiety, because I know right after I drop my album, I have to go out on tour and I have bad separation anxiety from my kids.

“When it comes to music and everything, I just be feeling like I don’t be liking anything. I feel like I got so many songs and I don’t like anything. I feel like nothing is good enough… And I got so much money saved up I just be like, ‘Yeah, whatever the fuck.’”
