Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour is nearing a concert movie record set by Michael Jackson as it crosses a major milestone at the worldwide box office. Directed by Sam Wrench, the hit concert film documents Swift's record-breaking Eras Tour, which started in March 2023. The concert movie was filmed during three shows at SoFi Stadium in August and released in theaters on October 13, where it has been breaking box office records both for a concert movie and among all 2023 releases.
Now, after playing in theaters for over a month, Swift's movie has crossed a major box office milestone and is nearing a concert movie record. The Taylor Swift: Eras Tour box office has surpassed the $250 million mark worldwide, including $178.2 million domestically and $71.8 million internationally, according to Variety. This puts it just beneath Michael Jackson's This Is It as the highest-grossing concert movie of all time at $261 million.
In its opening weekend alone, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour beat Justin Bieber: Never Say Never to become the highest-grossing concert movie of all time at the domestic box office. By crossing the $250 million mark worldwide over a month later, it's now nearing Michael Jackson's This Is It for the global record. These are just a few of the box office records broken by Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, including its staggering pre-sale ticket numbers which were comparable to a Marvel superhero blockbuster.

The concert movie's success is even more impressive considering its unconventional showtimes and ticket prices. Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour started its theatrical run by playing only on Thursdays through Sundays. Tickets are also more expensive than usual, with adult prices set at $19.89 in reference to Swift's birth year and 2014 album, while the ticket price for children and seniors is $13.13 in reference to Swift's favorite number. Despite these unconventional showtimes and ticket prices, audiences have been showing up to see Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour in theaters.
The Taylor Swift: Eras Tour concert film will be available to stream on her birthday, December 13, and will include three songs not featured in the theatrical version.
