The baddest women in rap are linking up! On Friday, GloRilla officially released a remix of her catchy track “Wanna Be” — this time featuring both Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B.
“Y’all been asking for this so here it is!!” Glo wrote on X Wednesday, sharing the silly cover art of cartoon versions of the three women posing in front of a chain-linked fence. “Wanna be remix featuring @theestallion and @iamcardib coming THIS FRIDAY!!”
The release comes just a few days after Cardi B joined GloRilla and Megan Thee Stallion during the New York City stop of Meg’s Hot Girl Summer tour (Glo is an opener), where the trio debuted the remix. “We had a time last night honey!!!” Cardi wrote about the moment on X.
The original “Wanna Be” featuring Megan Thee Stallion was a standout on Glo’s April album Ehhthang Ehhthang, alongside “All Dere” with Moneybagg Yo, and “Yeah Glo,” which she wrote after feeling “not the most confident.”
“It was most definitely a confidence booster for myself and me just talking to myself and boosting myself up,” GloRilla told Rolling Stone in April. “When you have such a good beat, the song just gonna come along. I feel like if you got a good beat, you could damn near say anything on the song gonna be good. But if you got a good beat and lyrics good too? That’s what makes the hit what it is.”
In Cardi B’s discography, “Wanna Be (Remix)” follows her feature on “Puntería” from Shakira’s album Las Mujeres No Lloran and her solo singles “Enough (Miami)” and “Like What (Freestyle).” Meanwhile, Megan Thee Stallion released her single “Boa” earlier this month.
Megan Thee Stallion and Glo will continue their Hot Girl Summer tour with shows in Atlanta, Miami, Dallas, Los Angeles, and Vegas.
