“I can fix her,” is what thousands if not millions of people said about Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn as they watched the first trailer for Joker: Folie à Deux.
A sequel to 2019’s Best Picture-nominated and billion-dollar-grossing Joker, Joker: Folie à Deux sees Oscar-nominated actress Lady Gaga join Joaquin Phoenix — who took home the prize for Best Actor thanks to his work as Gotham City’s Clown Prince of Crime — in what will surely be one of the most anticipated films of the year given the success of its predecessor.
While Warner Bros. released the first teaser trailer for the film, an official synopsis for the Todd Phillips-directed movie has not been confirmed.
The reaction to Gaga as Harley Quinn has been almost unanimously positive, which is especially impressive considering that she’s following in the footsteps of Margot Robbie, arguably the biggest actress in Hollywood.

During its release in 2019, Joker grossed nearly $1.1 billion at the global box office, surpassing the first two Deadpool movies to make it the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time, which is a record that it still holds. Interestingly enough, in addition to Joker 2, Deadpool 3 is also hitting theaters this year.
Alongside Phoenix and Gaga, Joker: Folie à Deux stars Zazie Beetz, Brendan Gleeson, Steve Coogan, Catherine Keener, Jacob Lofland, and Harry Lawtey.
Joker: Folie à Deux will hit movie theaters on Friday, October 4. Joker is currently streaming on MAX.
