Rihanna and Lady Gaga performed flawlessly and it is difficult to pick a favorite
Rihanna and Lady Gaga were both nominated for Best Original Song at the 95th Academy Awards which were celebrated this Sunday. Immediately after their performances, people began comparing their performances.
Lady Gaga performed Hold My Hand from Tom Cruise’s Top Gun: Maverick while Rihanna performed Lift Me Up from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Initially, Lady Gaga was on the fence about being able to perform due to her previous engagements, specifically being part of the cast of Joker: Folie à Deux. Gaga took on the role of Harley Quinn alongside Joaquin Phoenix and they were seen on the set of the movie on Saturday.
Glen Weiss mentioned earlier that “We invited all five nominees. We have a great relationship with Lady Gaga and her camp. She is in the middle of shooting a movie right now”.
During Lady Gaga’s performance, she mentioned that she crafted the song in her basement studio while wearing an all-black jeans and t-shirt attire and had a great performance.
Rihanna’s performance received a standing ovation
Rihanna made her way to the Champagne Carpet, previously the Red Carpet, also wearing all black, showing her beautiful baby bump previous to her performance.
Then came the time for Rihanna to sing the great ‘Lift Me Up’ song which was dedicated to all who participated in the film and most importantly a tribute to Chadwick Boseman.
After Rihanna’s performance, she received a standing ovation from the whole theater including the father of their first child A$AP Rocky.
People believe that both performances were really good, but a standing ovation gives the answer to the question of who performed better.
Ultimately, the Oscar was given to MM Keeravani and Chandrabose for the song Natuu Natuu in the RRR Indian movie.
