SINGAPORE, SINGAPORE – MARCH 02: EDITORIAL USE ONLY. NO BOOK COVERS Taylor Swift performs during … [+]
Taylor Swift just wrapped another leg on her The Eras Tour, which recently brought her to two cities in Asia and Australia. The singer posted a thank you message on Instagram, and mentioned the break she’s taking before heading back out on the road. The superstar isn’t about to go on vacation though–she’s stalling her globe-dominating trek for another work-related reason.
The singer posted a carousel of stylized images from one of her recent concerts in Singapore, where she just finished six consecutive dates. In her caption, the Grammy champion stated that she just wanted to “say thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who traveled and put so much effort into being at our shows.” She called the string of dates in the Asian city-state “an unforgettable way to end this leg of the tour!!”
Swift then reminded her 200-million-plus followers that she won’t be performing–at least not as part of her current venture–for several weeks. “See you in May when we get back to the Eras Tour!!” But why is she pressing pause on the most successful tour of all time? For a great reason. “In the meantime I’ve got an album to release…” Swift coyly added.
Of course, Swift is talking about her forthcoming full-length The Tortured Poets Department. She announced the title at the Grammys last month as she accepted Best Pop Vocal Album, much to the surprise of Swifties everywhere. The set is expected to drop on April 19.
The singer’s next scheduled date on The Eras Tour isn’t until May 9–exactly two months after her March 9 final concert in Singapore. She’ll resume venturing around the world on her billion-dollar-grossing trek in France. From May until August, Swift will be traveling around Europe, playing to massive crowds.
Swift then has a break from mid-August until October, when The Eras Tour launches another leg in America. After conquering the States throughout 2023 on her record-breaking string of shows, she’s planning on playing to crowds in Miami Gardens, New Orleans, and Indianapolis. She then finishes the trek in Canada, heading to both Toronto and Vancouver—at least that’s how it looks right now.
The Eras Tour is reportedly the highest-grossing tour of all time, and it’s far from done. Swift’s latest tour has earned more than $1 billion in ticket grosses, and it may cross the $2 billion mark before it finishes. No other tour in history has made $1 billion before.
