A member of the paparazzi has accused Taylor Swift’s father, Scott Swift, of striking him in the face on a Sydney wharf in the early morning hours of Tuesday local time. According to media reports, the alleged confrontation took place after Taylor Swift and her dad disembarked from a yacht, and following the megastar’s final Eras Tour concert in Australia.
The photographer, Ben McDonald, told the BBC the singer had already entered a car when Mr. Swift “charged in” and attacked him.
In a statement reported by Australian media, police said they had been told “a 71-year-old man allegedly assaulted a 51-year-old man at Neutral Bay Wharf about 2:30am, before leaving the location. The younger man reported the incident and inquiries are now underway by officers attached to North Shore Police Area Command. The man did not require medical treatment.”

In a statement to Rolling Stone, a spokesperson for Taylor Swift said that at the time of the alleged incident, “Two individuals were aggressively pushing their way towards Taylor, grabbing at her security personnel, and threatening to throw a female staff member into the water.”
Swift ended the Australian-leg of her blockbuster Eras Tour in Sydney on Monday night. Her next shows begin in Singapore starting March 2. Her private jet was seen departing Sydney International Airport at 11:58am local time today, 7News reported.
