Hoda Kotb relates to Cardi B, Offset's post-split hookup 2 years after ending Joel Schiffman engagement – Page Six

Hoda Kotb said she can relate to Cardi B hooking up with Offset after their breakup.
“I have fallen into old habits,” the broadcast journalist admitted to her “Today with Hoda & Jenna” co-host, Jenna Bush Hager, on Wednesday.
Kotb, who seemed to be referring to her former fiancé Joel Schiffman, shared that she “did regret” her rendezvous and wished she had “just a little more willpower” with her unnamed ex.
“After you’ve been with someone for seven years, and you see them, and it’s New Year’s Eve, sometimes if you’ve been broken up for even a month or two or whatever it is … sometimes you forget what it was that was bugging [you]. There are times where you’re like, ‘What was so bad about that?’” she continued.
Bush Hager, for her part, warned Cardi, 31, that the holidays can come with “traps” that bring “you back to the exes.”
“Gotta be careful, gotta be careful!” Kotb chimed in.
The two then played out a scenario of texting an ex, “Happy holidays,” but “then all the sudden” it turns into a “You up?” message.
Both Kotb and Cardi were in serious relationships for nearly a decade before their respective splits.
The TV anchor and Schiffman, 65, dated for eight years and were engaged for two before she announced their breakup in January 2022.
“It’s not like something happened. They say sometimes relationships are meant to be there for a reason, for a season or for a lifetime, and I feel like ours was meant to be there for a season,” she shared on “Today with Hoda & Jenna” at the time.

Meanwhile, the “WAP” rapper confirmed her separation from Offset, 32, in December after six years of marriage.
Their split has taken several dramatic turns, including Cardi calling her estranged husband a “bitch ass.”
Just 10 days later, however, they sparked reconciliation rumors when they spent Christmas together along with their kids: daughter Kulture, 5, and son Wave, 2.
However, Cardi quickly shut down the gossip and told fans to “shut the f–k up.”
By New Year’s Day, the “Bodak Yellow” performer confirmed she and the Migos member had sex on New Year’s Eve after performing separately in Miami. She continued to deny they were back together, though.
