This was probably Lady Gaga’s best way to deflect rumors that she and Bradley Cooper had a hot-and-heavy romance off screen as well as on: The singer found a new man to be photographed kissing, in a very public place and in a very boyfriend-like way.
On Sunday, Lady Gaga was spotted on a brunch date in Studio City with 37-year-old audio engineer Dan Horton. The two were seen by witnesses “deep in conversation” and kissing at an outdoor table at the front of the restaurant and overlooking the sidewalk, according to reports by People and Entertainment Tonight.

“They were kissing as they spoke really close up,” one source told People, while another fellow diner said the singer “looked amazing” in black cutoff shorts with “Gaga” embroidered on the back, a black tank top and boots.
“She seemed confident and in a good place,” the diner added to People.

Witnesses said she turned down fans’ requests to take photos.
Entertainment Tonight reported that Lady Gaga and Horton have been seeing each other for several weeks, while Horton’s LinkedIn page said he has been Gaga’s monitor engineer since 2018.
“Gaga has real chemistry with Dan,” a source close to the singer told Entertainment Tonight. “They have been working on new music, have spent hours of work time together and became really close.”
“They’re working very closely together at a home studio in Hollywood, and sparks just started flying,” the source added. “People noticed the chemistry early on, and now that she has taken some time to herself, she finally feels free to date. They seem like a pretty good match.”
Lady Gaga’s public date with Horton marks the first time she has stepped out with a new man since calling off her engagement to talent agent Christian Carino in February, just before the Academy Awards.
Given the displays of affection between Lady Gaga and Cooper during promotional events for “A Star is Born” in the fall, and their steamy performance of “Shallow” at the Oscars, many have wondered if the two became more than co-stars and artistic soulmates while making the movie. After Cooper ended his long-term relationship with model Irina Shayk in June, rumors that the real-life Jackson and Ally had become romantically involved intensified.

“All the talk of Bradley was all in fun; she’s ready to dispel those rumors once and for all,” a source told Entertainment Tonight. The source added that no one is surprised that Lady Gaga’s next romance would be with Horton or someone like him.
“He is handsome and talented, and she likes to date men on her team,” the source told Entertainment Tonight. “She is known as a workaholic, so it fits her lifestyle to meet someone while working.”
People added that Lady Gaga is currently on break from her Las Vegas residency, “Enigma,” so that she can launch her new cosmetics line, Haus Laboratories. Fans may be hoping that all that studio time with Horton means she will soon release new music.
“She seems very involved and excited,” a source told People. “Although she has been very busy, lately she seems happier.”
If Lady Gaga and Cooper had one sort of artistic bond, she and the Nashville-based Horton might have another, Entertainment Tonight speculated. Horton previously has worked with stars such as Camila Cabello, Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake, KISS, Lenny Kravitz and Jay-Z, according to his LinkedIn page.
“Dan’s adorable, southern, artsy and very different from the typical Hollywood guy,” Entertainment Tonight’s source said, adding that the relationship is in its “very early stages.”
“Right now they are having fun and it’s convenient,” the Entertainment Tonight source said. “She can talk music with him and knows all the big-name artists he’s worked with. She respects his work and sees him as a breath of fresh air.”
Horton was previously married to actress Autumn Guzzardi, who is currently starring in the off-Broadway musical “Rock of Ages,” People reported. The two tied the knot in 2013 but filed for divorce in 2018, People said.
In her way, Guzzardi appeared to confirm that her ex-husband is dating the pop superstar a few hours after news broke of the apparent budding romance. Guzzardi posted a headshot of herself on Instagram with the title of one of Gaga’s hit songs, “Poker Face.”
