Cardi B accused of using song from FX show 'Rez Dogs' without permission: lawsuit – KCAU 9

McALLEN, Texas (KVEO) — Two McAllen, Texas, musicians have filed a lawsuit accusing Cardi B and others of using their song without permission.
The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas on Wednesday, names Cardi B, OG Parker, DJ Swanqo, Atlantic Records, Celebrity Booking Agency and Warner Music Group as the defendants.
Cardi B is a Grammy award-winning artist who was featured on Time’s 100 Most Influential People in the World in 2018. OG Parker is credited with producing hit songs like “Slippery” and “Walk It Talk It” by Migos.
The plaintiffs, Joshua Fraustro and Miguel Aguilar, also known as Kemika1956, claim the group used their 2021 song “Greasy Frybread” — which was featured in the FX series “Rez Dogs” — without permission.
According to the lawsuit, Cardi B, her producers, and her record label infringed the song’s copyright by reproducing, distributing and publicly performing the work in Cardi B’s record “Enough (Miami).
Fraustro and Aguilar claim to have suffered “substantial damages,” including financial losses and irreparable harm to their artistic reputation and marketability. Court records show they are asking for $50 million.
Nexstar’s KVEO reached out to representation for Cardi B but did not immediately receive a response.
