After a four-year break, the BET Experience concert series lights up LA with unforgettable performances.
On Friday night (June 28), the BET Experience Concert Series made a triumphant return to the West Coast, hosting an array of superstars at L.A.’s Crypto.com Arena.
With the BET Awards set to kick off on Sunday night (June 30), the iconic Black network aimed to leave a lasting impression on concert-goers, marking the first BET Experience in four years.
The evening began with burgeoning singer Jordan Ward, who brought smooth R&B vibes to open the nearly six-hour marathon.
Following him, Sexxy Red turned up the intensity with a category-five caliber performance. With a "SexxyRed4President.com" banner displayed on the big screen, Big Sexxy made her entrance to the sound of “Bow Bow Bow.”
Her enthusiastic fanbase joined her in chanting “F— My Baby Daddy,” giving Sexxy the extra jolt of confidence she needed.
Sexxy Red powered through her latest project, "In Sexxy We Trust," delivering standout tracks like “Fake Jammin” and “Boss Me Up.”
Her performance reached its peak with a captivating four-song stretch, including “Rich Baby Daddy,” “Skee Yee,” “Get It Sexyy,” and her breakout hit “Pound Town.”
With catchy ad-libs and dynamic twerking, Sexxy proved why she’s one of today’s hottest female rappers.
Next up was Davido, who transported the audience to The Motherland with a jazzy live band and break dancers.
The Afrobeats superstar’s set came alive with triumphant production, as he performed his biggest hits like “If,” “Fall,” “Risky,” and “Unavailable.”
He also ventured into his feature repertoire, notably Chris Brown’s “Sensational,” adding flair to his high-energy performance.
Gunna took the stage fresh off The Bittersweet Tour, showing no signs of rust. Opening with “one of wun,” Gunna, dressed in a bejeweled jean jacket and shorts, captivated fans with tracks from his latest album.
He delighted the crowd with songs like “whatsapp” and “prada dem,” and brought out Leon Bridges for “clear my rain.”
Gunna continued to impress with collaborations like “TiFFANY” with IDK and fan-favorites such as “Dollaz on My Head” and “Top Off.”
He closed his set with hits “Drip Too Hard,” “Pushin P,” and “Hot,” finishing with his new classic “fukumean.”
The night’s final performer, Cardi B, took the stage around midnight, bringing a plethora of hits and humor to the LA crowd.
Wearing a custom-made football jersey with the No. 11, Cardi demonstrated what a potential tour might look like.
Her wit and energy shone as she performed tracks from her 2018 album "Invasion of Privacy," including “Get Up 10” and “Bartier Cardi.”
Although her headlining set was under 40 minutes, Cardi made the most of it by revisiting her standout features on tracks like G-Eazy’s “No Limit,” Blueface’s “Thotiana,” and GloRilla’s “Tomorrow 2.” She also performed solo hits like “I Like It,” “Up,” and “WAP,” during which she playfully spilled water on herself.
Despite joking about being winded, Cardi closed her set with the crowd-pleasing “Bodak Yellow,” leaving her mark on the West Coast.
