"Oh this is definitely a clue" — Fans believe Cardi B is teasing new music with her Princess Diana homage – Sportskeeda

Cardi B recently recreated Princess Diana’s iconic 1997 sportswear look. The Grammy-winner’s homage outfit prompted discussion among fans, with many wondering if the singer was teasing new music.
During a Monday, June 24, 2024, shopping trip in Los Angeles, the rapper wore a white crewneck sweatshirt with “Harvard” written on it with biker shorts, similar to Diana’s. Much like the late British royal, she paired the outfit with white sneakers, a black bag, sunglasses, and a chain choker necklace. She even sported a short hairdo.
Here’s a post by a Cardi B fan account showing her recent look:
As photos of the rapper circulated on social media, fans theorized she was hinting at a new album, with one saying:
Many speculated that the look was referencing the release dates or even hinting at an Ice Spice collaboration (Princess Diana was the name of one of her tracks). Here are some comments seen under @itsKenBarbie’s post on X:
Others wondered if it was a clue for the album’s aesthetic or theme. One even joked that they would check which singer attended Harvard University to see if it was a hint of a collaboration.
Cardi B began her career by appearing on the VH1 reality show Love & Hip Hop: New York, later releasing acclaimed mixtapes Gangsta B*tch Music, Vol. 1 (2016) and Vol. 2 (2017).
Her first studio album, Invasion of Privacy (2018), debuted at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 with two No. 1 singles, Bodak Yellow and I Like It. She has also collaborated on songs like Maroon 5’s Girls Like You, and Tomorrow 2 with GloRilla.
In August 2020, the rapper released WAP (featuring Megan Thee Stallion) as the lead single for her second studio album. Cardi has since been teasing the album’s release over the years, following up with the singles Up (2021) and Hot Sh*t (2022). She dropped a fourth single, Bongos, in September 2023. She announced her sophomore album would come out in 2024.
In May 2024, Cardi B got into a heated debate with a fan on social media after the latter shared a skeptical comment about the album’s release. In a now-deleted tweet, she wrote:
However, the singer’s publicist confirmed with Rolling Stone magazine (for their June 2024 cover feature on Cardi B) that the album was coming out in 2024. During her interview with the publication, the songstress revealed she was working towards completing the album, but there was “a lot left to do,” including needing an intro and three additional songs.
Cardi B or her team have shared no word on the album’s release date.
