Kansas City Chiefs announce new Christmas ‘Love Story’ movie – but it’s not about Travis Kelce and Taylor S… – talkSPORT

One love story has gripped Chiefs Kingdom for the past year or so.
This Christmas, another blossoming romance is coming courtesy of the Kansas City Chiefs, who are teaming up with Hallmark to produce a new festive flick.
The team announced that it has reached an agreement with Hallmark Channel for a movie titled, 'Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story', that sadly isn't about Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift.
'Holiday Touchdown' will be based on the journey of a young woman, Alana Higman, who "is sure that her family's lifelong history as Kansas City Chiefs superfans makes them a frontrunner to win the team's 'Fan of the Year' contest," according to a Chiefs press release.
She falls in love with the Chiefs’ Director of Fan Engagement, who is tasked with evaluating how Alana and her family stack up against the other two finalists.
"'As the pair spends time together, it's clear there's a spark between them." Presumably something goes wrong and after a little jeopardy they work things out and live happily ever after.
"We are honored to partner with Hallmark on a project as unique as this," Chiefs president Mark Donovan said in a statement. "As a club, we pride ourselves on exploring new ways to grow our brand, as well as connect with new audiences. This partnership unites two passionate fanbases and gives us an opportunity to show Chiefs Kingdom's energy and tradition on one of the most-watched channels during the holiday season."
Hallmark is based in Kansas City and the movie is set to begin production in July and film in various locations around the city including at Arrowhead Stadium.
"With Hallmark and the Kansas City Chiefs both homegrown, rooted in values, tradition and community, there is a special alchemy between these two iconic organizations," Hallmark chief brand officer Darren Abbott said in a statement. "By blending the warmth of Hallmark storytelling with the excitement of professional football, we are thrilled to give audiences a front-row seat to this community's spirit, rich traditions and passionate fans that define Kansas City, all wrapped up in the comforting and uplifting Hallmark way.
Both romance and Super Bowls were on the Chiefs' agenda last season, with the former overshadowing the latter at certain times in the season.
Tight end Kelce's budding romance with Tay Tay was the talk of the NFL and beyond as the 'Bad Blood' singer attended 13 Chiefs games during the 2023 season.
Kelce and Swift have been virtually inseparable ever since and are currently in London together for the hit-maker's Eras Tour.
Travis made a surprise appearance at a buzzing Wembley Stadium over the weekend, taking to the stage to participate in a choreographed bit during one of Swift's songs.
It comes after the 34-year-old future Pro Football Hall of Famer appeared on the Bussin' With The Boys podcast where he discussed what it's like dating one of the most famous people on the planet.
"You want to keep things private, but at the same time, like, I’m not here to hide anything. That’s my girl, you know what I mean? That’s my lady, so it’s like… I’m proud of that," Kelce said.
"I’m not sitting here trying to juggle like, 'how can I keep this under wraps?' You just don’t want to let everyone into your personal life and be able to comment on it, knowing that everything she does is getting a headline."
Discussing how Swift 'understands situations' like his team winning the 2024 Super Bowl, Kelce shared, "She's very self-aware. And I think that's why I really started to really fall for her, was how genuine she is around friends [and] family. It can get crazy for somebody with that much attention … and she just keeps it so chill and so cool."
"I can admire it for sure," he added.
