Travis Kelce managed to swerve an uncomfortable chat about Jake Gyllenhaal when discussing Taylor Swift’s song ‘Karma’, all-but confirming the song was about her ex-boyfriend
Taylor Swift's current boyfriend Travis Kelce found himself in an awkward situation during a podcast shoot, as one of the singer's ex-partners was brought up in conversation.
Swift has had multiple high-profile ex-boyfriends including Harry Styles, Joe Jonas, and Jake Gyllenhaal, the latter being mentioned to Kelce in an awkward interview. Swift has referenced her past relationships throughout her albums, and the song 'Karma' is rumored to be about Gyllenhaal.
More recently the singer has opted for a lyric change, singing 'Karma is the guy on the Chiefs' to acknowledge Kelce rather than citing the original 'Karma is the guy on the screen'. Kelce appeared on the "Bussin’ With the Boys" podcast and ranked his top three Swift songs with hosts Will Compton and Taylor Lewan.
Compton listed 'Karma' as his two-year-old daughter loves the track, and Kelce proceeded to put himself in an awkward situation. "Does she know who Karma is?" Kelce asked on the show. His question was about Swift's lyric change, and not her original.

"I don’t know if Rue (Compton's daughter) knows who ‘Karma’ is about," Compton said. @'Karma’ is Gyllenhaal, right?" In an attempt to avoid answering the question, Kelce then replied: "What happened?"
It was clear to see that the hosts didn't want to make Kelce uncomfortable and proceeded to joke about the lyric swap. "I know it’s changed. I know it’s about the boy now, right," Compton said. "I remember that one moment, that clip dropped, and she said that and everybody’s going nuts.
"The camera pans over to Trav and he’s kind of grinning in the backstage part." Kelce flew to Argentina in his bye week during the 2023 NFL season, to he could watch Swift perform her "Eras Tour" in Buenos Aires.

Kelce watched on next to Swift's father, Scott, but the concert went viral after the singer sang directly to the Chiefs player and changed the lyrics to 'Karma' for the first time. "I was like, Oh, —-,'" Kelce said when reflecting on the moment.
Swift and Kelce have been together for almost one year after beginning their relationship last summer, and they went public after the singer attended her first Chiefs game in Week 3, as they beat the Chicago Bears. Swift continued to support Kelce throughout the season and the NFL player has returned the favor by traveling around the world to attend her shows.
It was the most public celebrity relationship in 2023 and continues to dominate headlines. Kelce doesn't mind the noise, after making a sweet admission about their romance. "You wanna keep things private, but at the same time, I’m not here to, like, hide anything," Kelce said.
"That’s my girl. You know what I mean? That’s my lady, so it’s, like, I’m proud of that. I’m not sitting here trying to juggle, like, ‘How can I keep this under wraps?’ You just don’t want to let everybody into your personal life and be able to comment on it knowing that everything she does is getting a headline."
