Inside Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo’s bitter feud that’s left British star stuck in the middle… – The Sun

THE feud between Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo has been rumbling on for three years now, after Olivia was accused of using Taylor’s work on her single Deja Vu.
While the issue was resolved quickly, with Taylor getting a percentage of the royalties and her name quietly added to the song’s credits, there has long been talk of Bad Blood between them ever since.
And now insiders have told me the simmering tension between the pair has hit boiling point again — this time with British pop star Griff stuck in the middle.
Griff was announced on Sunday as a support artist for the UK leg of Taylor’s epic Era’s tour.
But people in her camp have told me Griff had to distance herself from Olivia to get the opportunity, including pulling out of the launch of Olivia’s second album Guts last September in a bid to keep Taylor happy.
A source explained: “Griff became close to Olivia when they hung out at the Brits together.
“They got on well and were really supportive of each other. They have shared experiences of the industry and it was great to see them getting on so well.
“When Griff’s team were told about the approach from Taylor, Griff was advised that distancing herself from Olivia might be the best course of action.
"Supporting Taylor on her Eras tour is a massive opportunity for her and they didn’t want anything stopping that happening.
“Griff had been due to go to the launch party for Guts but was advised to give it a wide berth.
“It’s been hard for Olivia because she really gets on with Griff. She knows too it isn’t Griff’s fault, it just feels like a shame to her.”
After Taylor and long-time collaborator Jack Antonoff and St Vincent were added to the credits, and got a cut of the cash for Deja Vu, Olivia’s fans were in uproar.
Later they claimed that Vampire — a song from Guts — was aimed at what happened with Taylor.
Lyrics in the song include: “I used to think I was smart, but you made me look so naive.
“The way you sold me for parts. You sunk your teeth into me.”

Olivia played it down but wouldn’t deny it was written about Taylor when asked.
She replied: “How do I answer this?
“I mean, I never want to say who any of my songs are about.
“I’ve never done that before in my career and probably won’t. I think it’s better to not pigeonhole a song to being about this one thing.”

Before her row with Taylor, Olivia was a huge fan of her work, describing herself as the “biggest Swiftie in the whole world”.
Now it’s all kicked off again, I think it’s fair to say that statement is definitely not true any more.
