Beyoncé’s Renaissance era may be coming to a close soon, but fans of the singer across the U.S. are far from done listening to the set. The title is still reigning supreme on one Billboard chart, and this week, that ongoing winning streak helps Queen Bey make history with her latest full-length.
This week, Renaissance remains atop the Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart, Billboard’s ranking of the most-consumed full-lengths and EPs in the U.S. that can be classified as either dance or electronic—or both. Beyoncé’s project isn’t new to the No. 1 spot on that ranking—in fact, it’s spent quite a bit of time there.
Renaissance has now racked up 52 weeks at No. 1 on the Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart. The title has spent a year on top of the ranking, though those 52 frames weren’t all in a row.
Impressively, Renaissance has ruled almost consistently since it was released in mid-2022. The title has now spent a total of 58 weeks somewhere on the Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart, with 52 of those at No. 1. Only a handful of releases have been able to push Beyoncé off the throne, but she doesn’t stay away for long.
Renaissance is now only the second studio effort in the history of the Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart to spend a year at No. 1. Beyoncé follows in the footsteps of her collaborator Lady Gaga, who became the first artist to manage the feat years ago.
Gaga’s debut full-length, The Fame, stands as the title with the most weeks spent atop the Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart. So far, the set has earned 175 stays in the penthouse. She and Bey may stand together in this very exclusive club, but Renaissance has years to go before it has a shot at catching up with The Fame.
