All work and no play can be dull and while Caitríona Perry loves her job she took some time off at the weekend to hang out with some very well-known celebrities.
It is nearly a year since she left her position as anchor on RTÉ’s Six One news and moved to Washington to work as a news correspondent for the BBC.

Over the years the presenter has come across several interesting characters including being called upon by former President Donald Trump. However, this weekend Caitríona was happy to jump into a shot with some of the most infamous stars out there.
It was a busy weekend for the presenter as she popped into the Washington Post headquaters for a pre-dinner party.
Wearing a satin light green dress, Caitríona stood for a picture beside the large sign, airing a sense of excitement before moving on to the big event.
Attending the The White House Correspondents Association Dinner, Caitriona stood for a selfie with Bridemaids actor Jon Hamm. The annual event is one of the most important occasions of the year for reporters and is often attended by the president and the first lady. This year Saturday Night’s Live Colin Jost was host on the night.
Posting for those to see at home she said ‘Just hanging out with Jon Hamm at the #WHCD.’
But that wasn’t the only familiar face she managed to bump into.
Yes, that is non-other than actor Rufus Sewell whom many of you will know from A Knights Tale, The Holiday and lately Netflix’s Scoop where he plays Prince Andrew.
For all those teenagers of the nineties you may also recognise actor Keri Russel who once stared in the popular show Felicity.
But behind it all for Caitriona home is where the heart is and earlier this month she headed back for a quick visit.
And while it may have been short, she still made time for her friends who were there for her when her road to success began.
In a picture with her former RTÉ anchor David McCullagh she said ‘Back in Ireland for a short break. The lesser-spotted sun finally broke through the clouds. Great to catch up with my RTÉ news partner David McCullagh.’
