Jason Kelce has defended his brother Travis Kelce for necking a beer at what appeared to be his graduation.
The former Philadelphia Eagles centre leapt to the defence of his brother, and boyfriend of music star Taylor Swift, after he was subjected to harsh criticism for downing a beer and slamming it on the stage while collecting a diploma at the University of Cincinnati.
A fan initially questioned Jason on X about the 34-year-old’s graduation antics, asking, “Doing what you did at a playoff game in Buffalo is one thing but doing that at the college where he got kicked off the team for acting like a jacka** prob wasn't best idea.”

Jason responded that the diploma ceremony wasn’t actually a real graduation for his brothers. He replied: “I know it looks like a graduation from the video.
"But this was actually at the end of a New Heights Live podcast that we put on to raise money for the University’s NIL. The university did this to poke fun at my brother and I for never really picking up our diplomas.”

Both Kelces completed their degrees but never walked across the stage to receive their diplomas after entering the NFL. Despite Jason defending the Kansas City Chiefs star, the three-time Super Bowl champion was still slammed for his behaviour.
One comment on social media read: “Officials standing there in the cap and gown…giving a 'achievement' which now means nothing to a beer chugging goon. How far culture has fallen. Just insulting and gross.”
A second sarcastically added: “What a tool. Unbelievably cringe. This guy will make a great role model.”
While a third slammed: “'Look at 34-year-old Travis Kelce acting like a 16-year-old teenager who just had his first beer. Seriously, is there a bigger D-Bag in all of professional sports than this.”
