Lady Gaga puts on showstopping performance in first trailer for Joker: Folie à Deux as fans say ‘peak ci… – The US Sun

THE very first trailer for Joker: Folie à Deux has been released.
The highly anticipated sequel to the 2019 drama film will star Joaquin Phoenix, 49, and Lady Gaga, 38, and will be released in theaters this fall.
The trailer began by showing Joaquin's character, Arthur Fleck, in an insane asylum in the fictional Gotham City based on DC comics.
He was then taken out of his room and walked passed by a room of inmates singing, one of them being Lady Gaga, who is portraying Dr. Harleen Quinzel, also known as Harley Quinn.
The Hollywood actress was seen wearing her hospital attire and a brown sweater on top.
Joaquin was seen walking in the rain while guards used colorful umbrellas to protect themselves from getting wet.
In the next scene, Lady Gaga was seen walking up a flight of stairs saying, "I'm nobody," while shaping her fingers into a gun and putting it to her head.
She continued, seemingly talking to Joaquin, "I haven't done anything in my life like you have."
As the two sat next to each other while watching a movie, Lady Gaga had the idea to break out of the asylum.
In different clips, Joaquin was seen in his typical Joker getup: clown makeup and his red and yellow suit.
The next scene showed the pop music singer dressed as a ballerina and dancing with Joaquin in the moonlight, which turned into them dancing in the rain.
Other clips included Joaquin running from people dressed as himself in the street, Harley and Joker kissing from a jail cell, and more dancing.
Lady Gaga was also spotted wearing similar makeup that Harley Quinn is known to wear while stunning in a red and black suit.
At the very end of the trailer, the two spoke to each other with a glass separating them as Joaquin was seemingly in jail.
With her lipstick, Lady Gaga drew a smile out of lipstick that perfectly fit on Joaquin's lips where he smiled.
The movie is set to be released on October 4.
Fans shared their excitement all over X, formerly Twitter, especially highlighting Lady Gaga's portrayal of Harley.
"Peak cinema is coming," one fan wrote in all caps.
"Big fan of whatever Lady Gaga is doing in that trailer. Already a very different Harley compared to the other iterations. Can't wait to see the rest of that performance," a second revealed.
A third said, "Liked and loved every second of the trailer. Awesome!"
"I damn near cried. Bravo," a fourth exclaimed.
"It's finally here," someone else said. "I can't wait."
"Excited for this one, OSCAR is waiting for Joaquin Phoenix," a sixth stated.
Another said, "The chemistry of Gaga and Phoenix is insane."

In 2013, Lady Gaga made her acting debut in Machete Kills starring Danny Trejo, Jessica Alba, and Sofia Vergara.
She continued her acting career in 2015 as The Countess in American Horror Story: Hotel alongside Matt Bomer and Evan Peters.
Three years later in 2018, she starred in the fourth rendition of A Star Is Born with Bradley Cooper.
The singer went on to be nominated for several awards for her role as Ally and won an Academy Award for the song, Shallow in 2019.
Her latest film was the 2021 drama based on the fashion brand, House of Gucci with Adam Driver, Jared Leto, and Al Pacino.
