AT this stage of his presidency, President Biden is polling lower than every occupant of the Oval Office since Jimmy Carter in 1980.
His support among Black, Hispanic, and young voters has dropped precipitously since taking office, but support is also falling in an unlikely place:
Hollywood.
Just last week, for example, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson announced during an interview with Fox News that he will not endorse Biden this election season after throwing his weight behind the Democrat four years ago.
“The endorsement that I made years ago with Biden was one I thought was the best decision for me at that time,” Johnson added.
“And I thought back then when we talk about, ‘Hey, you know, I’m in this position where I have some influence, and it’s my job then’ — I felt like that then — ‘it’s my job now to exercise my influence and share this is who I’m going to endorse," Johnson said in a recorded interview with Fox & Friends Weekend co-host Will Cain this weekend.
“Am I going to do it again this year? That answer’s no," the 51-year-old star also said before later adding, “I realize now going into this election, I will not do that, my goal is to bring this country together."
Johnson would not share who he was thinking of voting for, stating the decision will be a private one.
The Rock bailing on Biden isn't a one-off. Not even close.
Singer Cardi B, who has more than 168 million followers on Instagram alone, took to the platform in 2023 to denounce the president, whom she endorsed in 2020.
“I’m endorsing no presidents no more,” the rap megastar declared.
“Joe Biden is talking about, ‘Yeah, we can fund two wars,’ … talking about, ‘Yeah, we got it, we’re the greatest nation.’ No … we’re not. We don’t got it, and we’re going through some s**t right now. So say it!
“Y’all [are] doing budget cuts on the biggest city in the United States,” she also said regarding New York City's budget being exhausted by thousands of illegal migrants being provided free housing and food. “This —- is getting out of hand."
Snoop Dogg is another rapper who will not be backing Biden again this time around, instead sharing during a January interview warm feelings for Trump.
Trump "ain't done nothing wrong to me. He has done only great things for me. He pardoned Michael Harris. So I have nothing but love and respect for Donald Trump," the Gin & Juice singer said.
Harris, who co-founded the Death Row Records, had been in prison on drug offenses before Trump's pardon freed him.
Snoop publicly backing Trump is especially noteworthy given he once filmed a video that included a mock assassination at the end in 2017.
Trump, who was president at the time, had called for the rapper to be imprisoned.
Actor and comedian Michael Rappaport, one of Donald Trump's most vocal critics on social media in 2020, recently told listeners on his podcast that voting for the former president is "on the table."
While former Cheers star Woody Harrelson, who played Biden on Saturday Night Live during the last campaign season to rave reviews, announced he will not endorse Biden as well, opting to back third-party candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. instead.
Charles Barkley, who has voted Democrat in nearly every election, also teed off on Biden and the Democratic Party on CNN recently.
“The reason I think the Democratic Party and Mr. Biden, President Biden, is losing black votes is they only care about black people every four years,” Barkley said on his program, King Charles, in March.
“Then finally us black people are like, ‘I don’t know, man, other than my ability to dunk a basketball, all my neighbors’ hoods are still the same, our schools are still the same,'” the NBA legend added.
"And that’s why I think black people are leaving disappointed [with] the Democratic Party.”
Biden received 92 percent of the Black vote in 2020, but a recent New York Times/Siena College poll in March shows Biden receiving just 66 percent support from Black voters, marking a 26-point drop.
Overall, the same poll shows Trump topping Biden nationally by 5 points.
