Cardi B is currently embroiled in a legal battle over allegations of copyright infringement concerning her recent track, “Enough (Miami).” The lawsuit, filed by artists Joshua Fraustro and Miguel Aguilar, also known as Sten Joddi and Kemikal956, claims that their 2021 song “Greasy Frybread” was used without permission in Cardi B’s song. The track was notably featured in a promotional campaign for the FX series “Reservation Dogs.”
The plaintiffs are seeking substantial damages, quantified at $50 million, citing “irreparable harm” to their reputation and financial losses. The lawsuit also names Atlantic Records, Warner Music Group, and the song’s producers OG Parker and DJ SwanQo as co-defendants.
Amidst the legal turmoil, Cardi B has been vocal about her artistic journey and future projects. She revealed that “Enough (Miami)” was initially titled “And Her Name Is Cardi K,” reflecting her feelings of being underestimated and targeted. Despite the controversy, Cardi B announced plans for a new album, signaling a significant return since her last album in 2018, Invasion of Privacy. She also hinted at a potential Spanish language project following her upcoming album.
