Joseph Quinn may be on a career high after his breakout role on Stranger Things, but after being in the presence of bona fide superstar Taylor Swift, he admits things quickly became awkward.
While speaking on Monday’s episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast with Josh Horowitz, the A Quiet Place: Day One actor reflected on any “cringe” moments he has experienced, pinpointing the time he met Swift and fumbled his words.
“I met Taylor Swift once, and I said, ‘You’re Taylor Swift.’ She was very funny,” Quinn said. “She said something nice about like the show [Stranger Things], and I said, ‘Oh, thanks. You’re Taylor Swift. I meant it as a compliment.’”
However, when looking back Quinn admits, “I remembered thinking, ‘That was fucking… that was stupid.’ But she was very good-humored about it.”
He then jokingly said he and Swift are on “great terms,” so much so that he’ll be featured on her next album and they’re just sorting out the details for it but hasn’t reached out yet.
Apart from Quiet Place: Day One, the actor is set to star in the Gladiator sequel as Roman Emperor Caracalla alongside Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal and Denzel Washington. Quinn was also cast as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch in Marvel Studios’ upcoming revamped Fantastic Four. The film will also star Pascal, Vanessa Kirby and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.
