Taylor Swift's sold-out Eras Tour inspires new film as director warns 'she's taken over' – The Mirror US

Steven Soderbergh is ‘fascinated’ by Taylor Swift’s success and explained how her record-breaking shows have inspired a new movie he is in the early stages of developing
Taylor Swift has become the new inspiration for Steven Soderbergh as he's revealed he will be drawing inspiration from her Eras Tour concerts for a new movie.
The 61-year-old filmmaker explained that he's been thinking about a concept which looks into the mechanics of large-scale, successful collaborations such as Taylor's shows and how they contrast with global issues. He said: "I have been thinking about a project in which I analyze large scale, cooperative endeavours that work. Airports. Why do airports work? Or AA?"
He added: "You look at the Taylor Swift concert, at this whole tour and it works. So why can't we figure out Syria or any other conflict?"

He believes that humor and music are key to engaging audiences. Speaking to Variety at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival, he said: "Humor is a great delivery system for an idea and nothing lights up the brain like music, so this project better be funny and there should be some musical component as a way to open people up."
Steven said he wants audiences to "feel different" after watching the film. The Magic Mike director also said he's in awe of Taylor's global influence and believes she should be studied in college.
He explained: "People laugh that there is a college class being taught about her and I go, 'There should be'." He praised Taylor for doing something no one has ever done before and said "she has taken over" with her "relentless" dedication to her work.

Taylor has been wowing fans on her sold-out shows, but was recently forced to briefly pause her performance before she was rescued by a dancer. During her show in Dublin, Ireland, malfunctioning platform left her stranded in mid-air while performing The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived.
Thankfully dancer Jan Ravnik, who had no trouble with his own platform, swooped in to help Taylor back to solid ground. Despite the glitch, Taylor didn't miss a beat and carried on with her performance like a true pro.
Fans were loving the sweet moment Jan rescued Taylor and took to X to share their thoughts. "Aww see when you’re strong and kind king," one person wrote. Another said: "Oh that's so nice," while a third praised: "And Taylor does not miss a beat!"
