Joe Alwyn spent six years with the ‘Anti-Hero’ singer before their split in 2023
Taylor Swift‘s ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn knows her better than most, and after reaching out with some advice for Travis Kelce, it’s fair to say the NFL star may be all ears.
Swift spent six years with Alwyn before their shock split last year, although the pair left things on amicable terms when they decided to end their relationship.
It is rumored that some of the songs featuring on Swift‘s hit album ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ are based on her time with English actor Alwyn.
So he may be best-placed to stop the Kansas City Chiefs tight end from making the same errors her exes made – but perhaps Alwyn avoided – during their companionship.
Swift, a 14-time Grammy Award winner, has a history of writing songs about her exes. And that is why Alwyn has urged Kelce to treat her well, so that he can avoid ending up like some of her bitter exes such as Calvin Harris.
In addition, Swift’s fanbase – known as ‘Swifties’ – have a reputation for being relentless in hounding any person who dares to slander Swift in private or in public.
A source told Life & Style, “The only advice Joe would probably ever give Travis is to keep treating Taylor right so that he doesn’t become fodder for some song, because her fans will never let him live it down!”
Sure enough, it seems like Swift and Kelce’s romance is still alive and well as they approach their one-year anniversary, with engagement rumors continuing to circulate.
The 33-year-old, who has starred in films such as ‘Harriet’ and ‘Kinds of Kindness’, has previously said he doesn’t hold any grudges towards the ‘Cruel Summer’ artist.
The insider stated that very much remains the case, as there are “no hard feelings” between the former couple, despite the fact Swift dated The 1975’s Matty Healy shortly after their break-up.
It has also been said that Alwyn was “obviously aware” of “what he was getting into” at the time he started seeing Swift. However, the actor has been tight-lipped when asked to dish about his relationship.
“As everyone knows, we together – both of us, mutually – decided to keep the more private details of our relationship private,” Alwyn said. “It was never something to commodify and I see no reason to change that now,”
