Reports the popular singer laid down an ultimatum were refuted
Sean Combs, better known as Diddy, has seen his life turned upside down as a result of countless allegations made about his previous behavior.
The consequences of these allegations have been significant, with Combs being forced to address his violent history, especially towards women, and his professional career has also been halted.
Manhattan law firm Grubman, Shire, Meiselas & Sacks (GSM&S), which represents many major figures in the music industry, has dropped rapper Combs.
Initial reports suggested this decision came after Lady Gaga gave the firm an ultimatum.
“Lady Gaga said she was leaving if they didn’t drop Diddy, and she’s too big to lose,” an insider revealed.
However, those claims were refuted by the firm itself, with a spokesperson telling Page Six: “The decision to part ways with Mr. Combs was proactively made by the partners in the firm a number of months ago as they felt it was the right thing to do.”
GSM&S represents a roster of big names, including Elton John, Barbra Streisand, Lil Nas X, The Weeknd, Madonna, U2, and Drake, and losing any of those names could have been devastating to the company itself.
Combs’ departure follows reports of alleged misconduct. New York City Mayor Eric Adams revoked Combs’ key to the city after a video surfaced showing the rap mogul allegedly beating his ex.
The key was returned after Mayor Adams sent a letter to Combs on June 4, according to Fabien Levy, deputy mayor for communications.
