One Taylor Swift fan has opened up about why she rejected her boyfriend’s proposal during the Eras Tour.
Many people have taken advantage of the song Love Story to pop the question to their other half. Eras Tour proposals are taking over TikTok, but one woman actually rejected her boyfriend when he asked her to marry him during Taylor’s concert.
And honestly, I don’t blame her.
Louisa Melcher opened up about the controversial decision on TikTok and her reason behind the rejection is pretty understandable.
She confirmed that she is going to marry her other half, but she was rejecting the proposal itself because it wasn’t significant to her.
She told her followers on TikTok, “I just wanted to set the record straight. I was not saying “no” to the man, my boyfriend is the love of my life, I’m gonna marry him.
“But I was saying no to the proposal if that makes sense because it wasn’t specific to me. The location, for example, being Liverpool has no significance to me. And I was like did you literally just fly me here because it’s the cheapest tour date?” she asked.
She acknowledged that people would be annoyed at her over the decision, but she isn’t even a huge Taylor Swift fan so proposing at the concert didn’t mean much to her.
“I know people are going to hate me for this, but I’m not a huge Taylor Swift fan. Like I didn’t even have the song he proposed to me to saved in my Spotify.
“He proposed to “Love Story” and I was like did you just pick this because a lot of people on TikTok have done it?” she wondered.
You have to empathise with her because the proposal wasn’t personal and it seems like her boyfriend was just following a TikTok trend and there’s really nothing less romantic than that.
