Actor Hugh Grant joined a whole load of A List celebrities at Taylor Swift’s final UK show before she returns in August for her second run of five sold-out shows at Wembley
Hugh Grant has sent a "delightfully British" thank you tweet to Taylor Swift, praising her Wembley show and "gigantic" boyfriend.
The Notting Hill star was one of a slew of A-Listers who attended the American popstar's sold-out Eras tour, as it descended on London for the next leg. Hugh, 63, took his wife and eight-year-old daughter to the show, where he enjoyed the VIP tent on Saturday Night (22 June).
Taking to Twitter (aka X), the actor sent a gushing thank-you note, giving Taylor high praise for her show. Grant wrote: "Dear @taylorswift13 , You have an incredible show, an amazing and v hospitable team and excellent if gigantic boyfriend (#tequilashots.)."
Giving a nod to her 2019 track London Boy, he added: "Thanks so much from one ageing London boy, wife and thrilled 8-year-old #halfgirlhalfbracelet."
Hugh's followers loved the sweet message. One wrote: "So delightfully British to send a thank you note!" Another had a suggestion for Taylor's boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, replying: "Travis Kelce should add Hugh grant x1 to his bio now." A third wanted the goss, adding: "You gotta talk about it and the tequila shots we need the tea on the vip tent."
The 34-year-old singer embarked on her world tour in March, eventually kicking off the UK leg of the tour with her first show in Edinburgh, with every single date a complete sell-out. She will come back to the UK In August, but the first Wembley stint saw a whole load of celebrities including Tom Cruise, Beath Mead, Vivianne Miedema, Liam Hemsworth, Jamie Dornan, Hugh Grant, Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, Rachel Zegler, Phoebe Tonkin, Holly Jackson and Talia Mar all spotted.
Of course, supportive partner Travis was in attendance, as well as the June 21 gig, and again last night – he was also seen in Paris. He was seen dancing with his brother Jason, singing Taylor's lyrics word-for-word. The Taylor Swift appreciation is almost universal, with even legendary rocker Rivers Cuomo of the band Weezer admitting that he is open to a collaboration.
In an interview with NME, he was asked if a collaboration was ever discussed and he said: "No, we’ve never talked about that. That never occurred to me. If she ever wants to make a rock album, I’d love to help out! I have a feeling that I would get the call from Miley Cyrus first though! [Laughs] That would be very cool."
Taylor has just finished seven shows across the UK. Earlier this month, she opened up her UK shows in Edinburgh at the Murrayfield Stadium. She then made her way to Liverpool for another three shows at Anfield, before heading to Wales for single show at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium.
