The ‘Swiftie’ phenomenon is in full effect, and it was clearly on display yesterday, May 29, in the Spanish capital.
That’s where thousands of Taylor Swift fans showed up in the vicinity of the Santiago Bernabeu to take in the singer’s ‘Eras Tour’.
Swift’s fans have left everyone speechless, spending all their savings to attend her concerts, camping around the stadium to get the most privileged place to see the queen of pop as close as possible. As if that wasn’t enough, some of them even said that they would wear diapers so as not to miss a second of the American’s show.
In addition, many of Taylor Swift’s fans were dressed in outfits honoring the singer in the different stages of her life, proudly showing off their outfits. Another feature that sets the ‘Swifties’ apart is the many, many bracelets hanging from their wrists, called ‘friendship bracelets‘, which are handmade so they can be exchanged at the concert with other fans.
Last night’s concert was something spectacular, as it featured a jam packed Santiago Bernabeu and a deafening noise from all the fans every time Taylor opened her mouth.
One of the most viral moments was of the singer with a little girl who was in the front row. The American star noticed her presence and, in the middle of the performance, bent down to hug her. She also exchanged a friendship bracelet with her.
Not only did she stay there, she gave her the hat she was wearing for the show and it all ended with a message of ‘I love you’, which is what the girl said to the queen of pop. Taylor Swift’s visit to Spain is not over yet, as today, May 30, she will perform again at the Santiago Bernabeu in another unforgettable night.
