So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.
GLORILLA “WANNA BE” (with CARDI B & MEGAN THEE STALLION) [REMIX]
When Cardi B joined Megan Thee Stallion and GloRilla at MSG last week, they mentioned a new remix of Glo and Megan’s “Wanna Be” with Cardi was coming, and now it’s here. It’s an already-addictive song and Cardi blesses it with a great verse that fits right in.

KAONASHI – “PASSING THROUGH THE HOURGLASS”
Kaonashi have announced a new EP, A Second Chance at Forever: The Brilliant Lies from Casey Diamond, due July 26 via Equal Vision. Vocalist Peter Rono says, “These songs make up a fictional story but it’s rooted in our personal experiences. We are starting from the ending and moving to the beginning. On the 2021 LP [‘Dear Lemon House, You Ruined Me: Senior Year’], it’s about Jamie and it’s the tragedy that happens on graduation day. The last release [2024’s ‘The 3 Faces of Beauty: A Violent Misinterpretation Of Morgan Montgomery’] is about Morgan and their junior year. And this album is about Casey and reveals more about how we ended up at this tragedy.” The first single is “Passing Though the Hourglass,” which finds the genre-shifting post-hardcore side leaning into their poppy side.

PHANTOGRAM – “ALL A MYSTERY”
Ahead of their tour with Kings of Leon, Phantogram shared a new single, “All A Mystery,” their first for Neon Gold Records. “‘All A Mystery’ was a line that we used to sing when we first started writing songs for Phantogram,” Sarah Barthel and Josh Carter say. “We would sing it and harmonize it together while working in the barn turned recording studio. Back then, it was ‘all a mystery’ to us how we came together to become a band, and 14 years later, we are bewildered that we have been doing this for so long. This song touches on love, life, death and loss. It digs into memories, and the wonder of existence. And it examines the push and pull of time on this planet, and being able to share the experience of everything all at once as a mere grain of sand on an endless beach.”

To have the students collaborate on a version of it is a story of how Mavis is always lifting up young artists like me and those she’s never even met. Her joy touches us all and keeps us looking toward positive heights. It’s a thank you to her and a love note for her 85 years with us so far.”
