It’s the question on every Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce fan’s mind. Jason Sudeikis asked it in public.
While in character for a skit during the Big Slick Celebrity Weekend in Kansas City, Missouri, on Saturday, the Ted Lasso star asked Kelce, “Hey… when are you going to make an honest woman out of her?,” referring to Swift. The question is a dated term referring to “legitimizing” a relationship with marriage.
Sudeikis, joined by actors Robert Smigel and George Wendt, also in character, as well as Kelce, sat together at a table.
Sudeikis and Smigel discussed Kelce asking Swift to foot the bill for a new stadium, which the NFL star laughingly said, “Ain’t happening,”
Then Sudeikis, in character, asked his big question.
“Hey Travis, real talk OK, just the guys here …” he began. He then asked his “honest woman” question.
The audience cheered, but Kelce just smiled and stroked his beard.
“Taylor doesn’t need to be working anymore,” Sudeikis continued, in character. He then added: “I know your kicker agrees with me,” a reference to Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker’s controversial commencement speech where he advocated for women to adopt a life beyond working.
