When Stevie Nicks took the stage at the BottleRock Napa Valley music festival on Saturday, she chose a handful of statement-making accessories to complete her look — including one that was a nod to fellow superstar Taylor Swift.
On her wrist, layered along with other pieces, the 76-year-old “Edge of Seventeen” singer wore a gold nameplate bracelet that read “TTPD.”
The piece was official merchandise that was released to promote Swift’s newest album, “The Tortured Poets Department” album, which dropped in April. It’s currently available on the “Fortnight” singer’s website and retails for $40.
It makes sense that Nicks would rep Swift onstage. The pair are longtime friends and have performed together in the past, singing side by side at the Grammys in 2010.
Nicks was even name-dropped in the “TTPD” song “Clara Bow,” which includes the lyrics, “You look like Stevie Nicks in ‘75, the hair and lips. Crowd goes wild at her fingertips, half moonshine, a full eclipse.”
Last fall, the two-time Rock & Roll Hall of Famer opened up to Today about her relationship with Swift and the influence she might have had on the 34-year-old.
“I never don’t tell the truth. And I think that’s something that if Taylor Swift, who is my friend, if Taylor got anything from me, that’s what she got,” Nicks told the publication. “I don’t ever lie in my songs — if you broke up with me, I don’t put I broke up with you. I tell the truth, always.”
Swift isn’t the only one who has benefited from Nicks’ advice.
In 2022, Nicks told the New Yorker that she had offered some words of wisdom to Katy Perry after running into the “Firework” singer at a London hotel in 2012.
“She said, ‘So Stevie, who are your rivals?’ And I said, ‘I don’t have rivals.’ And her big blue eyes got bigger and bluer,” she told the publication at the time.
“And I said, ‘No Katy, I don’t, and neither do you. You are Katy Perry, you’re who you are, you do what you do and you’re great at it. I’m Stevie Nicks, I do what I do and I’m great at it. We don’t have rivals. That’s just ridiculous.’”
