Earlier this month, Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker caused quite a stir when he expressed some controversial opinions in a commencement address at a small Catholic college in Kansas. And now, Taylor Swift fans are not at all happy with the way that Jason Kelce responded to the speech.
In Butker’s commencement address, he offered several controversial statements including a suggestion that a woman’s most important role is to be a homemaker, a wife, and a mother. This caused a pretty strong reaction from women, particularly considering that he was speaking to a group of college graduations, many of whom were women, and was essentially telling them that their accomplishments as college graduates were not as important as being a homemaker.
While Jason Kelce, the brother of Taylor Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce, did not necessarily agree with this, he did seemingly suggest that women should not have been offended by what Butker said.
“I don’t think comparing NFL players to the plight of women is fair, and I understand what you’re saying. That being said, if someone gave a speech about how they don’t like football and think it’s stupid, I can 100% guarantee I would not be offended,” Jason Kelce said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.
