While she is happily dating a Harvard University graduate these days and keeps her relationship mostly under the radar, for many years the singer was involved with a fellow entertainer, an actor who rose to prominence in the famed Chicago television franchise.
For many of Lady Gaga’s staunchest fans, her longtime romance with Taylor Kinney is still a cultural touchstone.
Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney’s romance began in 2011 according to E! Online, when they were introduced on the set of Lady Gaga’s music video “You and I.” Kinney, who starred in the video as Gaga’s love interest, was a notable star in his own right, and had a starring role in the hit TV series Chicago Fire.
“We had a good time. I think there was chemistry,” Kinney later recalled. “I remember it was a late shoot. We were shooting until 4 or 5 in the morning or something like that. We exchanged information. A few weeks went by and we kept in touch, and then that’s that.”
Not long after the video shoot, Kinney and Lady Gaga went public with their romance, sharing several steamy pictures to social media. Lady Gaga never missed out on the chance to give her boyfriend props, admitting that while it can be hard to share the spotlight with someone, Kinney wasn’t jealous of her successes.
In February 2015, after nearly four years together, Kinney and Lady Gaga got engaged.
While millions of fans were thrilled for the happy couple, Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney only made it through the first half of 2016 as an engaged pair. In July 2016, multiple sources confirmed that Lady Gaga and Kinney had broken up, shocking fans everywhere.
The exact reason for their breakup has never been revealed — however, in a 2017 documentary, per Elle, Lady Gaga opened up about their split, saying that “my threshold for bullshit with men is just—I don’t have one anymore. In relationships, you have to move together.”

In the years since her split with Taylor Kinney, Lady Gaga has dated several men, including her agent, Christian Carino.
The two got engaged not long after beginning their romance, but by early 2019, they had called it quits. Only a couple of months after breaking up with Carino, Lady Gaga was spotted with Dan Horton, an audio engineer who had previously worked with the singer on several projects.
Still, their flash in the pan romance was over as quickly as it started, and by October 2019, Lady Gaga had moved on.
These days, Lady Gaga is dating Michael Polansky, a businessman and Harvard graduate who was first spotted with the singer in December 2019.
The singer has shared several intimate snaps of Polansky to her social media pages, although she seems determined to keep their love affair more private than her past romances.
As for Taylor Kinney, he has also attempted to keep his love life more private since his romance with Lady Gaga, and while he has been linked to a few women over the years (and shared a video to Instagram featuring the actor dancing with a mystery woman), he has not spoken out publicly as to his relationship status.
