In October 2019, Lady Gaga posed a pressing question to the tens of millions of people who follow her on Twitter: “What’s fortnight?” The post surpassed one million likes within three days. Two years later, a user in the replies came back for an update, wondering: “Did she ever find out what fortnight is?” After five years of leaving us waiting on the edge of our seats, Gaga has revealed that not only does she know what the video game platform is — and how to spell its name — she’s collaborating with Fortnite Festival.

“Fortnite*,” the musician wrote on X (formerly Twitter), quote-tweeting her original post. Beneath it, she shared a photo of her in-game avatar, glowing in a pink Chromatica haze. When Fortnite Festival launches its second season on Feb. 22, select entries from Gaga’s discography will be available within the game, which functions similarly to Rock Band and Guitar Hero, or Tap Tap Revolution.
Fortnite Festival launched last year with a special collaboration with The Weeknd, whose music was made available in the game alongside a character skin that users could apply to their own players. Other music in the game includes songs from Kendrick Lamar, Weezer, and a few from Gaga have already been made available.
Over the years, Fortnite has hosted massive virtual concerts from the likes of Marshmello and Travis Scott, who stomped around an in-game island and turned its battle royale game into an arena. The rapper also had a custom skin made available for users.
Rumors that Gaga herself would host a virtual concert within Fortnite began making the rounds in 2022. According to Out, an audio clip of an updated rendition of “Poker Face” was leaked on Twitter from an account listed as @FNLeaksAndInfo. The recording was created by a rumored emote.
