One of the “Begin Again” songstress’ most high-profile romances was her brief liaison with fellow pop star Harry Styles. The former One Direction member and Swift dated from late 2012 to early 2013. Perhaps because he’s a songwriter himself, Styles never had any problems with his ex-girlfriend penning tunes about their time together.
“It would be hypocritical for me to say she couldn’t do it because everybody writes songs based on personal experience,” Styles told Us Weekly in August 2013. “I can’t say I’d have dated someone less famous to avoid it.”

The former Disney star and the Cats actress dated in 2008. Though Swift later said that Jonas dumped her via a 27-second phone call, the duo eventually moved past their complicated history. In May 2019, the Pennsylvania native admitted that her Jonas-related behavior was a bit over the top. When Ellen DeGeneres asked her to name the "most rebellious thing" she did as a teenager, Swift replied, "Probably when I, like, put Joe Jonas on blast on your show. That was too much. That was too much. I was 18. Yeah. We laugh about it now, but … that was mouthy. Just some teenage stuff there.”
One month later, Jonas said it felt "nice" to hear that his ex had some regrets. “It’s something that I probably was feeling bad about when I was younger, but at the end of the day, I’ve moved on and I’m sure Taylor’s moved on and it feels nice," he told ITV's Lorraine in June 2019. "We’re all friends and it’s all good.”
When Jonas welcomed his first child with Turner in July 2020, fans were certain that Swift sent the happy family a baby gift because of a line in the song "Invisible Strings." Just over one year later, Jonas was spotted at an afterparty for Swift's November 2021 SNL appearance.
When Jonas and ex Sophie Turner split in 2023, Swift remained by the actress’ side throughout the breakup.

The Twilight star and Swift dated for three months in 2009 after meeting on the set of the movie Valentine's Day. Shortly after their split, the "Back to December" songstress described Lautner as "one of my best friends" during an October 2010 interview with Glamour. “He's wonderful, and we'll always be close," she added. "I'm so thankful for that."
There don't seem to be any lingering hard feelings between the pair, but the Abduction star also doesn't seem totally comfortable discussing his past with Swift. When Lea Michele asked the actor whether Swift had written a song about him, Lautner replied, "That's what she does. She writes songs." He eventually admitted that "Back to December" is the name of the track believed to be about their relationship.
The exes continue to remain friendly as Lautner appeared in Swift’s 2023 music video for “I Can See You.”

The "Gravity" singer was briefly linked to Swift from 2009 to 2010, and fans have theorized that the Speak Now track "Dear John" is about him. Though the Connecticut has alternately praised and dismissed Swift's songwriting skills, his interactions with her fans imply that he has mixed feelings about being the subject of speculation. After a Swiftie messaged him, "I hope you choke on something,” Mayer replied, “I’ve been getting so many messages like these the past couple days. I’m not upset, I just tend to have a curious mind and feel compelled to ask. Do you really hope that I die?”
When the user said that she'd been dared to message him in the aftermath of the Red (Taylor's Version) release, Mayer added, “So it’s a fun thing people are doing without taking into account that I might see it and be affected by it? It’s 100 percent OK. Go forth and live happy and healthy!”
“John is trying his best to avoid the attention he’s been getting from Taylor’s new album,” a source told Us after the Red rerelease in November 2021, adding that the guitarist felt like his past was "coming back to haunt him."

The Nightcrawler actor and the "State of Grace" singer dated in the fall of 2010 before splitting up just before New Year's Eve. Though fans have speculated that several Red tracks are about him, he has never addressed his relationship with Swift in detail. "Do I [have a song]? I don't know," he joked during a 2015 interview with Howard Stern.
The actor's sister, Maggie Gyllenhaal, however, has shared her thoughts on the line, "I left my scarf there at your sister's house," which listeners thought was a reference to her. “I never understood why everybody asked me about the scarf. What is this?” the Secretary star said during a September 2017 appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. “I am in the dark about the scarf. It’s totally possible, I don’t know. I’ve been asked this before and I’ve been like, 'What are you talking about?'”
In November 2021, Swift released a 10-minute version of "All Too Well," which is widely believed by fans to be about her romance with Gyllenhaal. The actor has remained silent about the speculation.

Nearly a decade after their split, the duo reunited at the 2021 Grammys, where Swift lost Best Pop Solo Performance to her ex. “It’s just interesting to me how interested the world is about Taylor Swift,” Healy said to Q Magazine in 2016. “The reason I mention that is because if I had [properly] gone out with Taylor Swift, I would’ve been, ‘F–king hell, I am not being Taylor Swift’s boyfriend.’ You know, ‘F–k. That.’ That’s also a man thing, a demasculinating [sic], emasculating thing.” (He later walked back the remarks.)
