Angry GOP pundit becomes internet laughing stock with dramatic reading of lyrics to “WAP” – Queerty

Right-wing pundit and former Breitbart editor Ben Shapiro is totally up in arms over Cardi B’s new song “WAP.” He thinks it’s absolutely disgusting! So much so that he felt the need to recite the lyrics on his podcast this week.
“This is what feminists fought for?” Shapiro raged. “This is what the feminist movement was all about!?”

It’s no surprise to us, however.
After all, the modus operandi for conservatives has always been to feign outrage over anything involving sex and promiscuity while secretly engaging in the same exact behavior behind closed doors and very often with people other than their spouses.
But Shapiro isn’t the only ring wingnut clutching his pearls over what has quickly become the song of the summer.
Republican James P. Bradley, who is currently running from congress in California, said he “accidentally” heard it and that it caused him to “want to pour holy water in my ears and I feel sorry for future girls if this is their role model!”

Some people feel song lyrics are vulgar and shocking?!?!? That’s been going on since the beginning of recorded music. Back in the 1950’s, they thought Elvis Presley was the anti-Christ, with his swiveling hips and raunchy lyrics.
Tipper Gore tried this angle years ago (and she was a Democrat), didn’t work then for the Democrats and it won’t work now for the Republicans. Music has a way of transcending political divisions. That said, if I had an adolescent daughter, I’d likely prefer she not recite the lyrics during dinner, Sunday or otherwise.

After pretending to be offended, Shapiro then said that he asked his wife (who is a doctor, by the way. Did he mention?), and she told him that having a wet vulva is a sign of a medical condition. His WIFE told him that it’s super normal for women to be dry during sex.

Whether we agree with what he said, the man does have one point. Those lyrics are trash and the one who wrote it should be embarrassed by it. That’s their legacy? I’m all for these people who wrote and sang the song to do so, as it’s protected in the constitution.
And I have the same right to disagree with it. Women should hold each other up and work to be more dignified than disgusting. I think Fiona Apple is great example of what a woman can do with a voice and not be vulgar without censoring herself either. She speaks her mind, but does so more eloquently than the ladies behind wap. It’s not my summer jam.
