TAYLOR Swift and Travis Kelce have reportedly turned down their invites to the Met Gala – but the singer has a valid reason.
The 2024 Met Gala, taking place May 6, would've been the pair's first red-carpet appearance as a couple.
However, according to TMZ, the duo opted to skip fashion's biggest night despite getting individual invites.
A source told the outlet that Taylor, 34, and Travis, 34, RSVP'd "no" to the event without further explanation.
It's assumed that the Fearless singer declined because the Met Gala falls the same week she resumes her Eras Tour.
While it's unknown why Travis bowed out of the star-studded evening, it's presumed it's because Taylor won't be by his side.
This year's Met Gala would've been Travis' first, while Taylor has attended eight times before.
A source recently hinted that the pair wouldn't be at the New York City gala, saying they're taking it easy before the next leg of Taylor's tour kicks off.
"They are loving to just relax, spend time together, and stay at Taylor's residencies to just enjoy being together and get a well-deserved rest," the insider exclusively told The U.S. Sun.
"It's that time of year where both are off and they like not to attract any attention, to not be going to many public events, and just stay in their 'bubble.'"
The source added, "They have been invited to tons of public events in the last few weeks but they declined them.
"The Met Gala is a massive event but the plan is to not go as they want to enjoy the maximum time they have before the start of the Euro tour."
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end has met up with Taylor numerous times throughout her tour, which catapulted her to billionaire status.
It's unclear if Travis will accompany the Grammy winner this time, with her first stop in Paris, France.
Taylor has proved that the athlete is regularly on her mind, as fans suspect her song, The Alchemy, off her new album, The Tortured Poets Department, is about him.
The album dropped at midnight on Friday, and the track went viral within minutes of its release.
Taylor Swift has been locked in a nasty feud with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian for years.
Listeners predict that The Alchemy is inspired by Taylor's experience at the Super Bowl in February, where she cheered on her man during his team's defeat against the San Francisco 49ers.
In the bridge, she sang, "Chiefs chanting 'cause they said. There was no chance. Trying to be the greatest in the league. Where's the trophy? He just comes running over to me."
And the chorus continued, "Touch down. Call the amateurs and cut them from the team. Ditch the clowns, get the crown, baby I'm the one to beat. 'Cause the sign on your heart said it's still reserved for me. Honestly, who are we to fight the alchemy?"
Since Taylor is known for writing about her love life in her songs, fans raced to social media to share their guesses as to who the track is about.
"The alchemy is clearly about travis lmao touchdown, greatest in the league, gloves on the bench… where's the trophy he just comes running over to me," one fan said on X, formerly Twitter.
"There is one beautiful surprise – The Alchemy is about Travis!" another agreed.
"References touchdowns, teammates, trophies and how they had an instant connection they couldn't resist."
"I also think the alchemy is about Travis. It fits perfectly," a third added.
Ahead of the Chiefs big game, Travis revealed he got a preview of some of the songs.
"I have heard some of it, and yes, it's unbelievable," the football star said.
"I can't wait for her to shake up the world when it finally drops."
One of the tracks is also thought to be aimed at Taylor's exes, Joe Alwyn and Matty Healy, and another shading Kim Kardashian and her daughter North.
