It’s been over two months since Taylor Swift made a huge announcement while accepting her 13th Grammy award at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards that shocked her fans (and the entire world).
Now the reason for the announcement is almost here.
Swift’s new album “Tortured Poets Department” is set to release this Friday, with Swifties and music junkies alike going into a frenzy over new music from the popstar.
Are you for ready for Swift’s “Tortured Poets” era? To get prepared, here’s where to preorder and find her new album this week.
All’s fair in live and poetry, Swift’s announcements caption reads.
Swift’s cover showcases a black and white image of the popstar wearing a blank tank and shorts on a bed on the cover. Even days before the release, the genre for the album has yet to be officially confirmed but it rumored to be synth-pop (1989 stans, rise up!).
Swift’s 11th studio album, “Tortured Poets Department,” will feature 16 songs, including one bonus track titled “The Manuscript.” Here’s the entire tracklist:
There are also three different variants that come with a different album cover and bonus track — The Bolter edition, The Albatross edition and The Black Dog edition.
Did one of the tracks look familiar? While there’s no confirmation on what “Florida!!!” is about, fans have taken to social media with their theories.

Fans theorize that “Florida!!!” is about her Eras Tour shows at Raymond James Stadium from April 13-15, 2023 — which would have been when details of Swift’s and Joe Alwyn’s, her boyfriend of six years, breakup were made public, according to People.
After receiving her 13th Grammy, Swift announced her new album “Tortured Poets Department” would come out Friday, April 19.
The album also will be available to stream on most streaming platform, such as Apple Music and Spotify, on that date.
Once the album drops, you can purchase it on her website. There will be several versions of the album available, including a CD, cassette, vinyl and digital album.
These retailers will sell the album starting on Friday, April 19:
The album is now available for preorder on Swift’s website.
Along with the standard and special editions of the album, there will be a special collector’s edition deluxe CD that includes a collectible 20-page booklet, which includes all song lyrics and never-before-seen photos, collectible photo cards, a bookmark and a magnet.
The “Tortured Poet’s Department” also is available for preorder at Target. Swift announced the store will be selling limited edition vinyl and 24-page book jacket with never-before-seen photos and three replicated pages of Swift’s handwritten lyrics.
In the weeks following the album announcement, Swift has given fans small teasers about its contents and the process of making it. Just days after announcing the album, she revealed during her first 2024 Eras Tour show in Japan on Feb. 7 the project had been in the making since October 2022.
“I’ve been working on it for about two years,” she said. “I kept working on it throughout the U.S. tour, and when it was perfect — in my opinion when it’s good enough for you — I finished it and I am so, so excited that soon you’ll get to hear it.”
In Melbourne, Australia, she said, “Tortured Poets is an album — I think more than any of my albums that I’ve ever made — I needed to make it. It was really a lifeline for me.”
Many fans have theorized the album centers around Swift’s ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn. The pair dated for six years before breaking up last year.
